1984: Surfrider Foundation created in California by a group of surfers wanting to protect their home surf spot.
1990: Tom Curren creates Surfrider Foundation Europe to involve the European surf community in ocean protection
Today: A community of everyday people who passionately protect their playground: ocean, waves, & beaches. Surfrider has built a network all around the world with its biggest communities in the USA, Europe, & Australia.
It currently has over 13000 members in Europe & is
represented in 11 countries through its 43 local volunteer chapters.
